Eliza Conway

Lynn resident

Eliza J. (Scibilia) Conway of Lynn died on January 19.

She was the beloved wife of John Conway Sr. of Lynn; devoted mother of John Conway Jr. and Christopher Conway, both of Lynn; loving daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Gearraughty) Scibilia; dear sister of John Scibilia of Chelsea, Harry Scibilia and Matt Scibilia, both of Revere, the late Dorothy “Twiggy” Scibilia and Andrew Scibilia and is also survived by several aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews.

Alfred LeBlanc Jr., 65

Worked for GE

Alfred J. LeBlanc Jr. of Lynn died unexpectedly January 20 at the North Shore Medical Center, Salem. He was 65 years old.

Born in Somerville, he lived in Lynn most of his life.

He was employed at the General Electric Company Aircraft Division in the Shipping and Receiving Department for 15 years before his retirement. He loved his family and enjoyed watching football and NASCAR.

He was the son of the late Alfred J. and Almeida (Saccocea) LeBlanc Sr. He was raised by his step-father Harold Woerner of Salem, NH and was the husband of Sharon M. (Ashwell) LeBlanc with whom he shared 27 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Scott H. and his wife, Roseanne LeBlanc, of Carver, MA, Michael A. and his wife, Gabrielle LeBlanc, of Haverhill and Christopher D. LeBlanc of Lynn. He was the devoted grandfather of Camille, Derek, Adrana and Ava LeBlanc and his siblings Eleanor “Tippy” and the late Brian Fallon of Lynn and Susan Thomas of Methuen, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Nadworny Funeral Home, Lynn. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery.

Shane Rigney, 31

Former Lynn Middle School Teacher

Shane M. Rigney of Beverly, formerly of Salem and Peabody, died unexpectedly on January 14 at Beverly Hospital. He was 31 years old.

Born in Salem, he was the son of Elizabeth (Hart) Rigney of Danvers, and Myles Rigney of Fitzwilliam, NH. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veteran’s Memorial High School, Class of 1996. He continued his education at Salem State College and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science in 2001 and his Masters Degree from Salem State College in 2007.

Mr. Rigney taught computer science at the middle school level in Peabody and Lynn and, for the last two years, he has taught at the Winthrop Middle School. He loved being around kids and was involved with several after school programs on the North Shore. He also enjoyed coaching and refereeing flag football and has been involved with the North Shore Flag Football league for the past five years.

In addition to his loving mother and father, he is survived his sister, Bethany Rigney and her husband, Ed Guillen, and their son, Caden, all of Port St. Lucia, Florida; his beloved girlfriend, Jennifer Mirra of Beverly; his step brother, Ryan Rigney of Rochester, NH, his grandmother, Janice Rigney of Gloucester, his aunts and uncles, John Hart, Cynthia Herlihy, Judy Freehand, Tim Hart and Kathryn Conway and his great aunt, New Hampshire State Representative Mary Griffin.

Funeral arrangements were by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody. Following cremation, burial was at the family lot at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Winthrop Middle School, 151 Pauline St., Winthrop, MA 02152
