Vernon Mayo

Mass Turnpike Authority retiree

Vernon B. Mayo of Everett, formerly of Deer River, MN, died on July 7 following a long illness.

He was a Mass. Turnpike Authority retiree and a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era.

He was the beloved husband of 23 years of C. Diana (Albano); devoted father of Leanne Anderson of Lewiston, ME, Thomas J. Mayo of Waterboro, ME, Rhonda L. Vidaurie of Revere and Catherine M. Sutton of Sabattus, ME; dear brother of Donald, Richard and Thomas Mayo, Evelyn Lee, Carol Thompson, Catherine Parks and Viola Thompson, all of Minnesota, and the late James and William Mayo; cherished uncle to Ashley Speer of Everett, Anthony Albano of Lynn, Robert Albano of Stoneham, Brooke Armstrong of Sandown, NH and Karen Osman of Melrose. He is also lovingly survived by 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Deborah Noyes of Sandown, NH and Jerry J. Albano of Salem, NH and many nieces and nephews in Minnesota.

Funeral arrangements were by the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, Revere. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

 

Elia Reina, 61

Cafeteria Cook at Emerson College

Elia Reina, a cafeteria cook at Emerson College, died suddenly at the Massachusetts General Hospital on June 26 following a brief illness. She was 61 years old.

Born in San Miguel, El Salvador, she was the daughter of Hernesto Reina and Maria Hernandez. She was raised and attended schools in El Salvador and after arriving in the United States she lived in East Boston and worked in the kitchen at Emerson College in Boston.

She is survived by her sons Oscar Hernandez and his wife, Dalia, of Lynn and Adolfo Hernandez of East Boston.

She was returned home to El Salvador and laid to rest in the Municipal Cemetery in Yucuaiquin, Depto de la Union, El Salvador. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Anthony Memorial Funeral Home, Chelsea.

 

Arthur Todisco

Owned AT Construction

Arthur R. Todisco of Saugus died on July 8.

He owned AT Construction since 1975 and was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He was the loving husband of Sharon (Staples) Todisco; son of the late Antonio and Antonetta Todisco; beloved father of Tracie Parker and her husband, Mark, of Lynn, Christopher Todisco of Lynn, Thomas Cennami, Jr. and his wife, Tricia, of Lynn, Lisa Phillips and her husband, George, of Saugus, Janice Cennami of Saugus, Joseph Repetto of Saugus, Mary Sue Repetto of Brockton, the late Arthur “Beau”, Dean, and Renee Todisco; father-in-law of Joanne Todisco of Chelsea; dear brother of Lenora Dragone of Swampscott, Guido Todisco of Reading, Antonio Todisco of Winchester, Florence Ciulla of Beverly, Antonetta Marino of Saugus, Angela Lavasco of Melrose, Joseph Todisco of Everett, the late Vincent, Pasquale, Armando and Mario Todisco. He is also survived by many special grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
