Marie Wonoski

Avid Red Sox Fan

Marie (DiStacio) Wonoski of East Boston, formerly of Lynn, died on January 20 after a long illness.

She was an avid Red Sox fan and finally seeing the sox win it all twice made her happy.

She was the loving mother of Donald DiNicola and his wife, Pam, of Lynn, Louis DiNicola and his partner, Rudy Gallucio, of Beverly and the late Kenneth DiNicola; cherished daughter of the late Louis and Pauline (Lomanno) DiStacio; dear sister of Norma Meola of East Boston and Anthony DiStacio and his wife, Betty, of Peabody; loving grandmother of Donald P. DiNicola and his wife, Amie, and Keri Lerman and her husband, Mark, and his great grandchild Kaylee DiNicola.

Cindy Donohue

Of New York, formerly of East Boston

Cindy D. Donohue of Ogdensburg, New York, formerly of East Boston, died on January 14.

She was the beloved mother of Jenna Chipman of Lynn; daughter of Helen G. (Haddock) of East Boston and the late Paul R. Donohue; sister of Frances Daniels of East Boston, Doreen Donohue of Lynn and Susan Blake of Wakefield. She is also survived by three nieces and one nephew.

Funeral arrangements were by the Magrath Funeral Home, East Boston. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

John Santora, Jr.

Saugus resident

John R. Santora, Jr. of Saugus, formerly of Melrose, died on January 19.

The beloved husband of Rachel (Cruikshank), he was the son of  Marie Santora of Everett, dear brother of Ernest Santora of Lynn and Maryellen Sheehan of Malden and is also  survived by one nephew and three nieces.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01701 would be sincerely appreciated.

Helen Fantasia

Retired Belle Steel Administrator

Helen F. (Boczkowski) Fantasia of Wakefield, formerly of Chelsea, passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Stoneham on January 13 following a short illness.  She was 72 years old.

Born and raised in Chelsea, she was the daughter of Jacob and Helen (Szkudlarek) Boczkowski.  She attended local schools and was a graduate of Chelsea High School, Class of 1957 and a Chelsea High School Majorette.  After graduating from high school, she worked as a switchboard operator at Bell Telephone in Chelsea, finally settling with Belle Steel Industries as an administrator in East Boston until her retirement in 2000.

A loving mother, she devoted her life to her family and enjoyed bingo, a love for food and cats.  She will be missed by many relatives and friends.

The beloved wife of the late Patrick Anthony “Babe” Fantasia, she was the devoted mother of Joyce (Fantasia) Murphy and her husband, George Murphy, of Stoneham and Michael Fantasia of Westbrook, ME; loving daughter of the late Jacob and Helen (Szkudlarek) Boczkowski; dear sister of the late Pauline Jaynes and sister-in-law to Albert “Sonny” Jaynes, Roberta (Fantasia) Pelland and John Fantasia; grandmother of Thomas Fantasia of Falmouth and cherished aunt of Brooke Harrison of Lynn, Tiffany Anderson, Robert Jaynes and Albert Jaynes, all of Las Vegas.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church in Stoneham, on January 24. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
