Winnifred Joyce Johnson

Former long time Star Market employee

Winnifred Joyce Johnson of Saugus died on June 2. She was 84 years old.

The wife of the late Carl G. Johnson, she grew up in Everett and was the daughter of the late Laura Vinchesi.  She was a resident of Saugus for 60 years, a homemaker and a long time employee at the Saugus Star Market.

She is survived by her children, Britt A. Johnson of Everett, Paula E. Johnson and her husband, Kevin Laterza, of Lynn and Diane L. Johnson and her husband Grant Strathdee of New Durham, NH, and her grandchildren, Erika Johnson, Carl Johnson and Carly Strathdee.

Private family services were held with arrangements entrusted to the Goodrich Funeral Home, Lynn.

Harold Plourde

Retired Insurance Agent, former owner of Ducom Company

Harold F. Plourde of Peabody, formerly of Lynn, died on May 30 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Roxbury after a brief illness. He was 84 years old.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II and before his retirement, he worked for the Unigue Carbide Company. He was also an agent for various insurance companies and the former owner of the Ducom Company. He was a Life Member of the Lynn Lions, Franco Amvents Post 161, the Franco American War Vets Post 12 and a  former member of St. Jeans Parish.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Severin and Florence (Lapier) Plourde and the husband of Mary Louise (Thibodeau) Plourde with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Steven R. Plourde of Eureka, CA, Wayne F. and his wife, Cynthia Plourde of Hampstead, NH, Michael W. and his wife, Karen Plourde of Londonderry, NH, Brian E. and his wife, Vanessa Plourde of Quincy, MA; brother of Richard of Detroit, MI, Donald J. of Peabody, John E. Plourde of Lynn and Lois Collier of Florida. He was the beloved grandfather of eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and brother of the late Louis, Kenneth and Robert Plourde, Doris Timpani, Marie Surrette, Helen Mann and Jean Obenauer.

Funeral arrangements were by the Nadworny Funeral Home, Lynn. Burial was in the World War II Lot, Pine Grove Cemetery.

Richard Belanger

Retired Letter Carrier

Richard E. Belanger of Everett died unexpectedly on May 25. He was 54 years old.

A US Navy veteran, he was a retired letter carrier for the US Postal Service, Everett Unit at the IMC in Chelsea

The beloved father of Krystal of Everett, Mellisa of Lynn, Michelle of Chelsea, Timothy and Thomas, he was the son of Richard J. Belanger of Chelsea and the late Mary (McGahan) Belanger; dear brother of John “Jack” Belanger and his wife, Alice, of Everett, Kevin Belanger of Georgia and Diane Androvett of Chelsea; brother-in-law of the late Michael Androvett and is also lovingly survived by two granddaughters, Amelia and Mia.

Funeral arrangements were by the William R. Carafa & Son Home For Funerals, Chelsea. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
