YMCA Kicks off Fundraising Campaign

The YMCA of Metro North is kicking off its fundraising campaign in an effort to raise $750,000 for its Growing Stronger Together Annual fund.  This fund ensures that no one is turned away for inability to pay in the cities and towns served by the YMCA including Lynn, Saugus, Stoneham, Peabody, Melrose, Lynnfield, Nahant and Revere!  In 2012, this YMCA provided over $700,000 in scholarship support!

The annual campaign, although is a year round initiative, has a concentrated effort within the YMCA and community for the month of April.  Each branch will have special awareness messages as well as activities to further engage people in the fundraising efforts.    The theme, “Did You Know”, will educate and spread awareness about the unique and critical programs that the YMCA offers.

“The YMCA of Metro North serves over 50,000 each year with programs and services focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.   By supporting our annual campaign, your money directly benefits someone living in your community, maybe even your neighborhood.  The Y is more than a place to exercise, we’re an organization always looking at ways to improve the lives of our constituents”, Bruce Macdonald, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metro North states.
