Journal Feature to Profile Candidates in Election

With contested races in nearly every local elected office on the ballot from mayor to School Committee, there are plenty of bumper stickers, yard signs and campaign flyers making their way around the city this fall.

But campaign literature can only do so much to help a voter decide whom they want to support and if you don’t personally know a candidate or get a chance to meet them during the campaign season, you may even have less to go on.

For that reason, the Lynn Journal will be seeking to introduce voters and readers to all of the candidates for office between now and Election Day.

Additionally, we’ll be working to make sure that you know about upcoming debates between candidates and meet the candidate nights.

Since the Ward 5 Council Race is the only race that is likely to see a candidate not make it to General Election Day in November, The three candidate will be pared down to two in the Primary, we’ll make sure to cover that race prior to the September 17 primary.

However, this week we’re going to start in Ward 1, where two candidates will vie for the right to serve Ward One voters in November, with Incumbent Ward One Councilor Wayne Lozzi facing political newcomer and Lynn native Debbie Plunkett.
