Carmelo Minaya

Longtime Hardward Store Owner

Carmelo Minaya of Lynn died after a brief illness at the Peabody Glen Health Care Center on December 6. He was 87 years old.

Born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Mon Nunez and Petronela Minaya, the husband of the late Rosa (Mendez) Minaya. He served with the Dominican Republic Air Force for 20 years and was the owner and operator of his own hardware store for over 30 years. He was a long time member of the PACE Program and a five year resident of the Peabody Glen Health Care Center.

He is survived by his children: Gerson Minaya of New York, Virginia Minaya of Santo Domingo, Estela Minaya of Santo Domingo, Rosamaria Moran of Arizona, Raysa Rodriguez Minaya of New York, Sandra Minaya Valles of Lynn, Xiomara Minaya of Lynn, Anna Irma Minaya of Santo Domingo and Virdania Minaya of Lynn; his grandchildren: Ismael Fernandez, Carlos Fernandez, Sherina Fernandez, Inmaculada Rodriguez, Llaneys Rodriguez, Jamie D. Rodriguez, Yaminka Rodriguez, Daniel Acosta (a member of the National Guard and City of Lynn Firefighter), Steven Acosta, Katherine Lopez, Jeanette Minaya Josephine Baultista Minaya, Ezerisco Minaya, Christian B. Minaya and Aldofo Minaya. He was the brother of the late Carmela Minaya.

Joanne ‘JoJo’ Wilson

Homemaker

Joanne “JoJo” Wilson, a lifelong resident of Lynn, died suddenly at home on December 4. She was 59 years old.

The daughter of the late Walter F. Wilson and Mary (Babe) McGovern Wilson, she was educated in the Lynn School System and was a homemaker.

She is survivd by three sons: Robert and his wife, Shannon of Lynn, Kenneth and his wife, Heather of Salem and Tony Barbosa of Lynn; one brother, Colin Wilson of Lynn and one sister, Lorraine Costa of Malden. She was the sister of the late Phlip, Ron and Doug Wilson, Marcy Smith and Carol Ortiz and the beloved grandmother of Kenneth, Jacob and Arianna Wilson, Serenity and Reminity Barbosa.

Philip Francis Iorio, III

Of Everett

Philip Francis Iorio, III of Everett, died on December 4.

He was the beloved husband of Christine (Demeulle) Iorio and devoted father of Haley Iorio, both of Everett; loving son of Gloria Iorio of Lynn; loving brother of Derek James Iorio and Matthew David Iorio and his wife, Christina Iorio, all of Lynn; grandson of the late and beloved Frances “Gerry” Iorio and Philip Iorio Sr.; nephew of Aunt Lynn Liggett of Medford, Aunt Susan Lane and Aunt Sheila Silva, both of Lynn. Uncle Dennis Leary and the late Aunt Sandra Leary, both of Medford. He is also, survived by his nephew Derek “DJ” Iorio and his nieces Destiny, Julia, Sophia; cousins, Arthur Doherty and family of Stoneham, Edward Lord and family of Everett, Serena, Star, Jenna and their families and his grandmother Gloria Nickerson, anduUncle Paul Nickerson, both of Lynn. Aunt Pauline of Fall River, his mother-in-law, Linda Demeulle, sister-in-law, Laura Hamilton and Brothers-in-law,, Tommy and James Marcello, all of Fitchberg and by many, many friends.

Josephine Siderski

25 Year Owner and Operater of Joan of Lynn Beauty Salon on Market Street; Past State and Chapter President of P.L.A.V.A. Auxiliary and Former Board Member of the Lynn Council on Aging

Josephine F. (Wiodkowski) Siderski of Lynn died at the Aviv Living Center on December 6 after a brief illness. She was 97 years old.

Born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Bronislawa (Popkowski) Wlodkowski and the wife of the late John T. Siderski, she graduated from the Lynn School System and worked in the General Electric during World War II. The owner and operator of Joan of Lynn Beauty Salon on Market Street for 25 years, she also worked for the IRS for several years, was a member of the GE Retirees and the P.L.A.V.A. Auxiliary where she was Past State and Chapter President. A former board member of the Lynn Council on Aging, Mrs. Siderski ran bus trips to Foxwood and was an avid Bingo player.

She is survived by one son, John B. Siderski of Lynn and one daughter, Janice J. Knowles of Newton, NH and the loving grandmother of three grandchildren: John R. Knowles of New Hampshire Douglas B. Knowles of Marblehead and Jamie Knowles Callaghan of Sierra Vista, Arizona. She also leaves several great grandchidlren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Nadworny Funeral Home, Lynn. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
