Marcia Guilbert

Nurse Practitioner and Visiting Nurse; of Maryland, formerly of Swampscott

Marcia L. (Fay) Guilbert of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed away peacefully on  September 13 at her home. She was 67 years old.

Born on May 10, 1947, the daughter of the late James and Florence (Colontoni) Fay, Marcia grew up and attended school in Swampscott. Upon graduation, she attended the Faulkner Hospital’s Training School for Nursing and became a Nurse Practitioner. While living in the Boston area, she devoted many of her years and nursing care at a methadone clinic, helping drug addicts. When she moved to the Washington D.C. area, she worked for a local Hospice organization as a visiting nurse.

She is survived by her loving husband, Marc Guilbert, of Sharpsburg, whom she married on February 15, 1985; and her two sons, Andrew and Daniel Guilbert, both of Sharpsburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Fay.

A memorial gathering was held on October 12 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at BastStaufferFuneralHome.com.
