Dolores J. DiFillipo released the following statement announcing her candidacy for a seat on the Lynn School Committee in the November 3 election:

I am the wife of Anthony “Tony “DiFillipo and the mother of two wonderful children, Anthony Rocco and Vanessa DiFillipo.  I am the youngest daughter of three daughters of the late Edmund F. Waters of East Boston, Mass. and Marylou Sousa of Lynn, Mass. I am the daughter in law to the late Armand “Army” DiFillipo and the late Nancy Andrews DiFillipo.  Our family has resided in the City of Lynn for over 100 years and owns a family business DiFillipo’s Brickyard Bar and Grill on Blossom Street in Lynn, Mass.

I currently hold a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling & Psychology (M.Ed.) from Cambridge College and a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice (BSCJ) from Northeastern University.  I have been a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for approximately 20 years.

I have approximately 28 years of experience working with children and families providing protective services, case management, counseling, prevention education and treatment.  My work experience is as follows:  A Prevention Educator and Manager of Youth Services for high school students in the City of Revere at Revere High School;  member of the Opiates Task Force in the City of Revere;  Clinical Director in a behavior school for the City of Lynn; Department of Children and Families (DCF) Investigator/Social worker in Chelsea, Lynn and Salem, Mass; Forensic Interviewer in the Essex County Child Abuse Project and Sexual Assault Unit for Essex County D.A. Jonathan Blodgett;  Court Investigator for the Massachusetts Juvenile Courts; and currently an Investigator for the Office of Investigations for the Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the Department of Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC).

I am currently an active member of Holy Family Church, St. Pius V, and One Community One Voice in Lynn, Stop the Violence in Lynn, Lynn We Care, a Volunteer for the North Shore Chapter of MA Responds as a Licensed Social Worker and a parent Volunteer for Wyoma Little League Concession.

I am asking for your VOTE on November 3, 2015 for the Lynn School Committee.
