Arts After Hours will present the Tony Award-winning comedic play Art by Yasmina Reza March 4, 5, 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19 at 8pm and March 6, 13 and 19 at 4pm. It will perform at LynnArts’ Rantoul Black Box Theatre, 25 Exchange Street, Lynn, MA, 01901. Tickets range from $15 to $30.
Art is a funny, moving look at a friendship that’s put to the test by conflicting opinions about a minimalist, modern painting. This play explores the age-old question, “What is art?”
That exploration will begin prior to each performance of Art in the LynnArts gallery, which will feature a free exhibit of modern works from local artists, open to all theater ticket holders.
The play and exhibit will converge on March 13 with a talkback featuring the cast, director, and gallery artists. Moderating this special event will be Lee Wayne Mills, a critically acclaimed East Coast artist and interim executive director of Delaware’s Rehoboth Art League.
Art opens Arts After Hours’ sixth season—a significant milestone for the nonprofit organization dedicated to creating economic impact in Downtown Lynn through live theater. “We consistently bring high-quality theatrical experiences directly to our city’s residents and visitors,” says Corey Jackson, managing director. “This play has some of the best designers, actors, and directors that we have ever assembled.”

The Lynn Central Square MBTA commuter rail station and bus depot are one block from the theatre.
