North Shore Civic Ballet Awarded Grant from Marblehead Cultural Council

Bringing the joy of dance to the North Shore region is the North Shore Civic Ballet Company’s (NSCB) goal.  Rosemary Grant, a NSCB board member, announces the organization has been awarded a grant to present A Summer Dance at the Marblehead Festival of Arts on Sunday, July 3.  This program is supported in part by a grant from the Marblehead Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

“It’s wonderful the town of Marblehead recognizes the presence of a fine artistic organization that provides quality dance to our community,” said Grant.

With the grant award, the NSCB will present to the public a performance of ballet, featuring original works created by Resident Choreographer Ivan Korn.  The NSCB’s dancers, drawn from the North Shore and the greater Boston area, will perform under Artistic Director Paula K. Shiff, the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient in the Arts from Salem State University.

The public is invited to get involved and make a contribution to support this new program’s expenses that are not supported by the grant.  The NSCB is a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt, nonprofit organization based at the Marblehead School of Ballet, located at 115 Pleasant Street in Marblehead, Massachusetts.  Contributions are tax-deductible as permissible by law.  For further information about the program or the ballet company, call 781-631-6262.
