Member of East Boston Trampers
Patrick J. “Pat” Guisto of Revere, formerly of East Boston, died on August 18.
A member of the East Boston Trampers, he was the cherished son of the late Patrick J. and Rosemarie (Gelati) Giusti-Giagle; dear father of Jessica Gordon of New York; life companion of Toni Ann Tritto of East Boston; dear brother of Marcia of Swampscott; adored grandfather of DJ and fond uncle of Vincent, Christian and Meghan Giagle and his dogs, “Jo Jo” and the late “John John.”

Catherine Penza, 92
Florida resident and ‘Everyone’s Mother’
Catherine M. Penza of Tamarac, Florida died on August 14. She was 92 years old.
Born in Revere, the eldest of 10 children of the late Joseph and Theresa DeLena of Revere, she grew up during the Great Depression and was forced to leave school in the eighth grade to help her large family financially.
She worked as a meat wrapper for the A&P when her children entered Jr. High School and was an extraordinary homemaker. Her cooking skills were superlative as she served family and friends. Everyone she met felt that she was “their” mother. She was a most loving, caring, sensitive and intelligent woman who cannot ever be replaced. She impacted everyone she ever met, including her caretakers at the end.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Frederick Penza of Andover; her daughter, Susan Scanlon of Surprise, AZ; her brothers, Frank DiLena and Jerry Delena, both of Revere, Joseph DeLena of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Richard DeLena of Medford, Robert DeLena of Melrose and her sister, Gloria MacDonald of Lynn; her grandchildren, Shawn Scanlon of Pleasanton, CA and Scarlett Harrigan of Elk Grove, CA; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Madison, Rylee and Jordyn; six nieces and 13 nephews. She was the wife of the late Alfred Penza of Sunrise, FL; sister of the late Louis DeLena of Medford, Ronald DeLena of Boca Raton, FL and Rose Marotta of Revere.

Stephen MacLellan, 57
Decorated veteran
Stephen R. MacLellan of North Attleboro, formerly of Chelsea and Revere, died on August 18 following a long illness. He was 57 years old.
A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Bronze Service Star, he was the cherished son of Lorraine T. (Brondson) MacLellan of Spring Hill, FL and the late Robert S. MacLellan; devoted father of Stephen R. MacLellan Jr. of No. Attleboro, Daniel MacLellan of New Hampshire and Jack Brophy of Pawtucket RI; dear brother of Susan M. Noble and her husband, William, of Spring Hill FL, John M. of No. Attleboro, David P. and his wife, Joan, of Lynn, Thomas M. MacLellan of East Boston and the late Robert T. MacLellan Sr.; beloved brother-in-law of Diane J. (Simonelli) MacLellan of Revere and Laura (Massucco) MacLellan of Everett. He is also lovingly survived by his devoted close friend and business partner, Michael T. “Rusty” Balliro and family of No. Attleboro, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the fiance of the late Renee B. Balliro.

Lynn resident
Ann (Hoy) Madden of Lynn, died on August 16.
She was the beloved wife of the late Walter L. “Bo” Madden; devoted mother of Patricia Stevens of Leesburg, FL, Maureen Marlowe and her husband, Walter, of London, UK, Kathleen Spelta and her husband, Gino, of Swampscott, Richard Madden and his wife, Donna, of Boxborough and Philip Madden and his wife, Karen, of Revere and is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
